PAYMENT AND PRICING INFORMATION
Our hedgehog baby adoption fees are $350 to $400 based upon costs of supplies as well as unique coloration and patterns of our hedgehogs. Along with your hedgehog comes their pedigree paperwork (which does NOT give breeding rights as those are only given to licensed, pedigreed breeders we work with), their Hedgie List Registration Certificate, food, toys, a small plastic carrying case, a homemade snuggle sack, Lifetime Guidance and Support and a 6-month Congenital Health Guarantee.
To reserve your baby, there will be a $25 non-refundable deposit. This deposit will be applied to the full fee of your baby.
Along with your $25 non-refundable deposit we require a completed Adoption Application. All of our babies are PET HOME only.
For local pick-ups, the remainder of your hedgehog's balance is due at the scheduled pick-up time.
For our out of state ground transported hedgehogs, the remainder of your hedgehog's balance is due 7 days prior to your hedgehog's departure date.
PICK-UP AND LOCAL DELIVERY
We do not permit families to visit our home so we will make the best possible accommodations to meet you in a mutual location.
We will schedule a pick-up/delivery date with you within 7 days of your hedgehog's Ready Date. This is generally seven to eight weeks after they were born.
We schedule their Ready Date based on their age, weight, being fully weaned for at least two weeks and socialized to ensure the best health of your baby for their transition.
Even though we will provide a small plastic carrying case for your hedgehog to go home in, you will still need to bring an appropriate pet carrier for your hedgehog so that we know you have one, meaning one that completely closes to contain your baby for its future car travel and veterinarian appointments.
GROUND TRANSPORT SHIPPING
If we are transporting your hedgehog through out of state door-to-door ground transport, the shipping payment will be due when we book the transportation. This is necessary in order for us to schedule the transport with a trusted USDA-certified transporter. We cannot provide you with a delivery date until the transporter does though there are routes that generally travel through states once or twice a month. Inclement weather and/or traffic can alter the date of your hedgehog delivery.
You will need to make yourself available on the date and time the transporter provides. They will keep you updated to their progress with live updates on their Facebook Page.
Only the person listed on the invoice will be permitted to sign for the animal. Arrangements can be made for another authorized receiver at least 18 years of age and with an ID prior to shipment of your animal with ADVANCED notice.
Please note that the transportation process of any animal can be a very stressful event. We have no control over what happens once the hedgehog leaves our care and during transport. This is the reason we use only trusted USDA-certified transporters. If you choose the door-to-door ground transport option, it is at your own risk.
REHOMING & RETURNS
We do not offer refunds of any kind.
If at any time you want to surrender your hedgehog for any reason whatsoever, we will ALWAYS welcome them home.
If you are having difficulty with your hedgehog in general, please keep an open communication with us as we will always be available to assist you with yours and your baby's needs.
If you are considering rehoming your hedgehog, per our contract you must discuss this with us first. All health guarantees and warranties become void if the hedgehog is rehomed, resold or surrendered by you to anyone.
If you are ready to relinquish your baby and all avenues have been exhausted, we will work with you in regards to placement of another baby in your home. If we do not have any babies available at the time, we will work you into our next rotation of litters.
*WE DO NOT SELL OR SHIP TO THE FOLLOWING AREAS: CALIFORNIA, GEORGIA, HAWAII, PENNSYLVANIA OR THE FIVE BURROUGHS IN NEW YORK AS PET HEDGEHOGS ARE ILLEGAL IN THESE LOCATIONS. PLEASE RESEARCH THE LAWS IN YOUR AREA TO ENSURE YOU OBTAIN ANY NECESSARY PERMITS.
